Reasons why dandruff in hair in winters

A common scalp disease that majority of people face during winters is “Dandruff”. It is most of the common among adolescent, as this can affect people of any off the age group. We all are aware that at some point in our live we desperately tried at least all types of dandruff treatment and over the counter anti dandruff shampoos, but it is one of the sticky problems which keeps coming back. In the most cases, dandruff problem is itself is not a serious problem but it is an embarrassing and irritating problem. In such certain cases this may lead to the other skin problems like acne, pimples and even worse, this can lead to the social problems and lower the self esteem.

 

Here are some reasons for dandruff:

Poor Brushing:

A poor brushing leads to higher risk of dandruff. This is a natural mechanism for scalp to shed the dead skin cells. A proper combing of hair and proper brushing is very important at least for twice a day to get rid of all these flakes. In an addition, a proper brushing improves blood circulation and air supply to the scalp and hair that the crucial for the healthy hair.

Not Proper Shampooing:

If enough of the washing is not done which will lead to the circulation of the dead cells and oil on scalp which can lead to the dandruff and the itchy scalp. It is most recommended that wash you hair on every other day with mild herbal shampoo because detergent and chemicals in common shampoos cause frizzy and rough hair. If you are planning to use a conditioner after shampooing, it is important to make sure to apply this at least an inch away from scalp and wash it thoroughly so that no residue should be left in the hair.

Stress:

Excessive work stress or emotional stress, over night work will shift, ugly divorce or back to back exams and many more things will lead to dandruff and hair loss. Stress has great impact on both mentally and physically. Try to stick to routine, drink plenty of water and eat healthy meal at proper time to keep the situation under control.

Excessive Use of Hair Products:

There is a boasting of salon treated hair just thanks to chemicals loaded with the styling products, so it is not possible to get out with plain hair, bland. So if this is a must for you, use hair sprays, gels and mousse in the moderation, because chemicals present in these products might aggravate problem of dandruff.

Improper Diet:

To a large extent, modern diet is most responsible for dandruff in the present times, a processed food, fried food, fatty and refined sugar leads to inflammation which will in turn lead to dandruff and flaking. Just try to limit up intake of trans saturated fat, sugar and salt. There is a substitute of the processed diet using an antioxidant rich diet including minerals like omega 3 fatty acids, vitamin B and zinc. Eat fresh fruits, green leafy vegetables a lot to have a proper diet.

Dry Skin:

People having dry skin mostly complain of the dry dandruff. Problem in winter is due to cold wind and dry weather. People suffer from type of dandruff is not oily and flakes are too smaller in size.
